Picture this – pitching our home grown predictive intelligence tool, CCH iQ, to the external global Innovation Board of Wolters Kluwer in New York for the 2016 Global Innovation Awards. Initially up against 300 entries and then a short list of 16 finalists from all around the world, can you imagine how thrilled we were to be included on the short list but then…we won!
CCH iQ was selected as the 2016 grand winner for the Greatest Value for Customers because it is a market first predictive intelligence tool that matches tax events with their impact on clients, providing accountants with the insights and triggers to proactively engage with clients.
Innovation is our driving force
We take innovation seriously here at Wolters Kluwer and it’s actually core to our corporate strategy moving forward. Each year the Global Innovation Awards team invites every business unit to submit an entry across a range of categories in order to acknowledge eight winning innovations. The category which we won – greatest value to customers – is a ‘call-to-arms’ for ideas that create maximum value for our customers through new product innovations, enhancements or other expert solutions. Over 19,000 of our Wolters Kluwer colleagues around the world voted to recognise our efforts and we then faced strict evaluation by our very own Dragons’ den – a panel of internal and external experts responsible for the judging process.

Customer focus pays off
Within the Tax and Accounting Group globally APAC is seen as innovative, progressive and a customer-focused region and this year we actually fielded two finalists for this section. In fact two out the three teams overall for the Tax and Accounting Group came from APAC so we must be doing something right.
